A its northern part,
the Aegean Sea soaks the coastal part of the county of Serres, forming
wonderful coastlines and beaches where summer resorts have been developed,
especially on both sides of the road artery Kavala-Thessaloniki,
part of the commune of Nea Kerdilia. At the half of the distance
we meet the organized beach of Nea Kerdilia with a cafeteria and
a restaurant while inside the village and along the road, there are numerous
taverns offering fresh fish and excellent service. The nocturnal life during
summer months is extremely intense.
There are rooms to
let. The beaches of Nea Kerdilia have been honored with the European prize
“Blue flag of Europe”.
The visitor can perfectly
combine his stay in Nea Kerdilia with a visit to the archaeological
site of Amfipolis and its perfect museum, situated nearby. The “Lion
of Amfipolis” constitutes a burial monument proving the grandeur of
Ancient Amfipolis.
