The prefecture of Serres is archaeologically rich, too. Beginning from the town of Serres the visitors have the opportunity to visit the Museum called "Bezesteni" which has been open to the public for many years now. It has many exhibits of archaeological interest. It is open on weekdays. 

     The next place to visit is Amphipolis, one of the most noteworthy archaeological sites in our country, with its famous "lion", the guardian angel of the ancient town. The museum, which was inaugurated there not long ago, a real treasure of the area, situated in its natural surroundings, has a rich collection, which is continuously enriched with new archeological finds.
